A friend of mine recently got suspended from his job on short term disability. He returns to work in July. Unfortunately, his work is extremely stressful and he thinks he is going to get laid off. His base wage is $37,000/year in Oklahoma. How much would he make on unemployment?

My GUESS is that it depends on the ‘conditions’ his credit union has in affect and also what your state allows. Your friend sounds like a really hard worker. IF I WAS IN HIS PLACE, once they laid me off I would check and see if it was a “work related” issue.If so, I would find me one of those lawyers who don’t get paid until you win and go for the max entitled to me by the laws of your state. Tell your friend I wish him the very best in settling this issue!
