What is a reasonable answer to give unemployment for a voluntary layoff?

unemployment

I quit my job, because I had a falling out with the office manager. I am currently seeking unemployment benefits. Can I still receive benefits even though I quit? I have been working for the company for 1 year 8 months. Is there a reasonable answer to why I quit that can better explain the falling out?

  1. most likely you cannot get unemployment. they usually do not offer unemployment for someone who voluntarily quit their job simply because voluntarily quiting putsup a red flag and shows irresponsibility. now if they told you that you couldn’t do a job because of a disability then I can guarantee that you will recieve unemployment

  2. Any reason you provide the unemployment office will be verified with your boss. Given what you said…you’ll never collect.
    1) Your boss is angry. He/she will do whatever to make sure you don’t collect. Yep…your boss will lie about the reason you left. Boss lied about why I was terminated and I never collected unemployment eventhough I was laid off through no fault of my own.
    2) Unemployment office always takes the employer’s side if the given reasons of job loss are different.
    3) Generally, you can’t collect unemployment if you leave your job voluntarily (quit) or were fired “with cause”. Exceptions to quitting categories: adverse working conditions, disability, health/safety issues. If the reasons are similar you will have to prove that it falls into one of the 3 mentioned categories in order to be eligible for unemployment.
