1) Your boss is angry. He/she will do whatever to make sure you don't collect. Yep...your boss will lie about the reason you left. Boss lied about why I was terminated and I never collected unemployment eventhough I was laid off through no fault of my own.
2) Unemployment office always takes the employer's side if the given reasons of job loss are different.
3) Generally, you can't collect unemployment if you leave your job voluntarily (quit) or were fired "with cause". Exceptions to quitting categories: adverse working conditions, disability, health/safety issues. If the reasons are similar you will have to prove that it falls into one of the 3 mentioned categories in order to be eligible for unemployment.Any reason you provide the unemployment office will be verified with your boss.
